Next Friday, October 6th is National Manufacturing Day. As a U.S. manufacturer, we are proud to be participating in this annual event for the sixth time and excited to open our doors to students and educators from local technical schools and colleges.

What is Manufacturing Day?

According to the MFG Day website, "MFG DAY addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry. Supported by a group of industry sponsors and co-producers, MFG DAY is designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges. Since its beginning in 2012, Manufacturing Day has achieved thousands of manufacturing plant tours across the U.S and Canada. This year they are expecting even more companies than last year to participate. The event is co-produced by organizations that come together to provide the framework for Manufacturing Day. This includes founding partner Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership and The Manufacturing Institute.
