History of Rodon

History of Rodon

Irving Glickman, a veteran of the manufacturing field, starts The Rodon Group in 1956 while working at ELGO Rubber. This small company grew steadily under Glickman’s strategic investments in equipment and materials. As a pioneer of synthetic rubber, Glickman saw the greater potential of thermoplastics and was passionate about cost-effective manufacturing materials and techniques. That dedication helped get Rodon off the ground as ELGO Rubber eventually closed.

Irving Glickman retires and his son, Joel Glickman, becomes Rodon’s new president.

Irving Glickman’s son Robert Glickman joins The Rodon Group.

Rodon moves into a new 87,000-square-foot facility in Hatfield, PA.

Joel Glickman invents K’NEX, a construction toy consisting of interlocking plastic connectors.

To scale up production of K’NEX, Rodon purchases new EDM machines and expands its facility by 40,000 square feet. Since then, Rodon has manufactured over 39 billion parts.
